Beginners and those returning after injury

Joining a running club doesn’t mean you already have to be able to “run”. In fact, we can all run – maybe not very far and maybe not very fast, but a little. However, it can be daunting to join a running club when you are just getting started.

If you are interested in starting running for the first time, or coming back to running after an injury or long period without running, we offer Couch to 5k programs from time to time. The Autumn program is now underway and registrations are closed. The next program is likely to be starting in the Spring.

The programs meet three times a week for approximately 45 minutes. Two of these sessions you can do in your own time if you can’t make it to the scheduled sessions, but we ask everyone to come along to the Wednesday evenings.

There’s no charge for the program itself, but you will need to join the club. The annual club membership fee is currently £26, and that includes your registration with England Athletics and membership of Bedale Sports Club. You will then be able to come to our club run evenings after the program is finished, get small discounts on running events if that’s something you end up wanting to do, and several other benefits.
