Bedale and Aiskew Runners (BAR) club members were taking part in events last weekend.
The 19th annual Kirkbymoorside 10k, a big day out of running in the Yorkshire moors. The race sets off from the centre of Kirkbymoorside. Along a single loop of undulating country lanes around Kirkbymoorside, providing stunning views en-route finishing with a wonderful long downhill onto the High Street, lined with supporting spectators encouraging finishers all the way to the line.
The race attracted 439 runners from across Yorkshire and further afield. Two BAR runners took in the route Rebecca Smith finishing 2nd in her age category with a personal best (PB) of 45:31 and Raymond Lightle in 50:29.
On Saturday runners and supporters were out at local Parkrun’s. At Northallerton Jess Mallison ran 30:51 continuing her development. Catterick was host to PB’s for Alison Barron and Katie Watson in 27:19 and 27:12 respectively. Other members were volunteering, Paul Berry and Nicola Simpson helping to enable the participation of many and the continuation to the Parkrun community.
