Runners from the Bedale and Aiskew club (BAR) attended three different Parkruns last Saturday. There was a field of 190 at the Catterick event with nine BAR athletes, four achieving personal best (PB) times. Alex McNairn clocked an all time PB of 21.12 for the 5K course, followed by Becky Smith achieving a course PB of 21.55. Marian Hunter also recorded a course PB of 27.35, as did Alison Grayson in 28.43. Paul Berry was timed at 21.56, Raymond Lightle 24.28, Kat McCann 27.46 (whilst pushing a buggy!), John Hunter 28.34 and Rachel Burr 29.13.
Paul Simpson equalled his all time PB at Fountains Abbey Parkrun in 20.05 and 24th position out of 422 taking part. At Northallerton Matt Randall recorded a course PB in 22.50, as did Jess Mallinson with 33.55.
Last Sunday saw the running of the Dishforth Dash 10K on the runways of the old aerodrome. The very very flat course saw this year’s best times for Paul Bainbridge of 49.03, and Raymond Lightle of 50-09.
Although the Dishforth Dash isn’t a championship race, it counts as a wildcard for now for Paul and Raymond – at least until they have an even better one! The championship has therefore been updated.
