Parkrun PBs, pies, pints and, oh yes, the Saltburn Marathon!

Saturday saw fourteen Bedale and Aiskew Runners brave a very windy Catterick parkrun and two of the 10k program athletes recorded personal bests – Beth Grayson (28:00) and Alison Barron (28:10).

Also on Saturday, Lena Conlin ran just a little further, tackling the longest distance at the “Pateley Pie and Pint”. Lena completed 6 laps of the 5 mile course to finish in 6:15:38 – 2nd lady in the 30 mile distance.

On Sunday Lena was out again, this time for the Hardmoors Saltburn Marathon, where she was joined by Stuart Black (clearly not resting on his laurels after picking up the club’s 2018 Outstanding Male Performance award the previous evening). The 28.2 mile mixed terrain course covered muddy coastal paths, woodland, boggy moorland, dry hard trails and roads, not to mention over 4,000ft of climb. The stunning views helped both runners (pictured) complete the course in a very respectable 6:12:00.
